Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering over a crowded southern California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling out of control, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Recordings posted online capture the aircraft beginning to twirl near the shoreline then falling in the direction of the border of the shore, where it gets stuck among palms and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters stated five persons were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the street were injured. Details on their wounds were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
